Effective October 11, 2026
WayTime is built so your location history never leaves your iPhone. We don't run servers that store your data, we don't require an account, and we don't show ads, sell data or track you across apps.
Everything WayTime records or reads is kept on your device: your location history, places, trips, trip purposes and notes, the calendar events it compares them with, sleep and workouts from Apple Health, the photos it shows beside a day, vehicles, clients and mileage logs. We never receive any of it.
If you use your iPhone's own iCloud Backup, Apple includes WayTime's data in that backup, under Apple's privacy policy. Backup files and reports (PDF, CSV and others) leave your phone only when you choose to save or share them.
None of these requests includes your history, your places, your name or any identifier of yours.
WayTime asks for Location (to record where you go, including in the background), Motion (to tell walking, cycling and driving apart), Calendars, Health, Photos and Notifications. Each is optional except Location, and you can change any of them in the iPhone's Settings. Photos are matched to places by their location tag only if you turn on "Photos by location".
Deleting the app deletes everything it stored. You can also erase your history from within the app. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing to request from us.
WayTime isn't directed to children under 13.
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its date. If a change ever means data leaves your phone in a new way, the app will tell you first.
